Playa de Jabillo
An ideal dive for family diving
Playa del Jablillo is a sheltered artificial bay that offers safe and calm waters, perfect for beginners with both mask and snorkel and for scuba diving.
Marine life is varied and abundant, as this refuge provides shelter for groups of salemas, sargos, galanas, the typical fulas, the exotic and colorful pejeverdes, as well as spider crabs, blennies, and even rays.
Access is from the same beach, and a circular route can be made since the shape of the bay invites it. The area is perfect for enjoying the pleasure of discovering its nooks while diving, free from any worries. The calm waters allow for encounters with the most characteristic animals of the Canary Islands, making it an ideal place to learn to distinguish the variety of marine fauna in Lanzarote. More adventurous individuals can also try exploring the outside of the breakwater.
Since the diving area is quite extensive, two routes are suggested: one to the right of the entry point and the other to the left. Both routes can be adapted to different levels, with varying maximum depths for the dive. In caves and crevices, it is interesting to look for animals such as moray eels, octopuses, giant anemones, briotas, and even narwhal shrimp.
When swimming above the sand, it’s important to observe carefully, as angelsharks, torpedo rays, and stingrays are common.
