Montaña Amarilla
A dream bay
Montaña Amarilla is one of the emblematic places of La Graciosa and the Canary Islands. Its color is due to the type of eruption that originated this volcano, where magma mixed with seawater. The picturesque rock formations on the surface continue underwater, creating characteristic landscapes of the Chinijo Archipelago’s seabed.
With autonomous equipment, as well as with masks and snorkels, this dive allows us to discover the secrets of the Marine Reserve. Very close to this point, there is a very interesting dive area known as Punta de la Cocina, featuring corridors, arches, and caves where we can see wrasses, giant anemones, or even eagle rays and stingrays.
For anyone visiting La Graciosa, the route to Montaña Amarilla is one that should not be missed. It is recommended to complete the excursion with a mask and snorkel to cap off a relaxing day at the beach with a swim while observing the submerged nature.
The dive involves exploring the reef while admiring the landscape and the marine life that inhabits the area. Beneath the mountain, an interesting platform is formed that can also be explored in search of an unexpected encounter.
This area is shallower, and if we explore it with masks and snorkels during low tide, we can see the seabed and all its life up close.
