You will learn about SSI’s philosophy, its Total Teaching System, its flexibility in application, and we will conduct a confined water session where we will practice the new and improved exercises for recreational diving.
- +18 years old
- Having logged a minimum of 100 open water dives with a total of 65 hours or more.. (nota: los estándares requieren mínimo 75 para empezar y 100 para acabar. Durante tu curso aquí hacemos menos de 25 inmersiones de abiertas con lo cual necesitas el mínimo de 100 para la certification)
- Be an active instructor with a recognized recreational diving company. Have the Oxygen Administrator certification.
Throughout all water training, as a diving professional, you must be equipped with a properly fitted Total Diving System.
As a professional, you must be equipped with at least all the student equipment (mask, snorkel, fins, buoyancy compensator with mechanical inflator, weighting system, air supply system with tank, primary regulator and alternate air source, dive computer, wetsuit suitable for the environment), in addition to:
- A Surface Marker Buoy (SMB)
- An emergency signaling device on the surface
- A cutting tool
- A compass
Candidates of the Diving Professional programs must use a professional-level Total Diving System.
The training during this course takes place in Playa Flamingo, which is very convenient for practicing diving skills.

The duration of the course is 4 days.
Ideally, you should already have your own equipment since your Divemaster course. If you are missing any part of the equipment, we can help you here (depending on size availability, etc.), as we have a dive shop.
Professional courses require dedication when it comes to learning—there is a lot of material to cover, and we facilitate this learning, but we need you to come to your courses prepared. When you enroll in the courses, you will receive a link with access to the courses, and that will be the time to start preparing!
In addition, we provide you with a guide with assignments for home, so you can ensure that you have everything read thoroughly.
Yes, the requirements can be completed in a flexible order so that we can tailor the speed and teaching to your needs.
You will obtain equivalent certifications to those you already have with other agencies.
We are proud to have 2 Instructor Trainers on our team, Sebastian Ceriani and Raúl Anaya, both with over 1,300 certifications and 12 years of combined experience. They are supported by 2 Assistant Instructor Trainers and a full team made up primarily of Instructors, all of whom have been trained under the Pura Vida philosophy.
You will have your assigned Instructor Trainer upon arrival, who will take care of your needs during the course.
